Fayette is one of the 55 counties in the state of West Virginia. It was created in 1831 from parts of Greenbrier, Kanawha, Logan, and Nicholas counties. As of the 2010 census, the population was 46,039. The county seat is Fayetteville. The county has 668 square miles in area.
