Maui County

Maui (named after a Hawaiian demigod) is one of five counties in the state of Hawai'i. It is composed of the islands of Maui, Lana'i, Kaho'olawe, Molokini and the great majority of Moloka'i. This group of islands is situated roughly halfway between Oahu and the big island of Hawai'i.

The 2010 census recorded a population of 154,834. The county has an area of 2,398.74 sq mi (6,213 km2), but only 1,159.20 sq mi (3,002 km2) is land. The county seat is Wailuku.
