Pottawattamie is one of the 99 counties in the state of Iowa. It was created in 1847 from parts of Mahaska, Monroe, and Polk counties. As of the 2010 census, the population was 93,158. The county seat is Council Bluffs. The county has 959.94 square miles in area.
