Taylor County GA

Taylor is one of the 159 counties in Georgia. It was formed in 1852 from portions of Macon, Marion and Talbot counties. As of the 2010 census the population was 8,906, up slightly from 8,815 in 2000, but down from the all-time high of 11,473 in 1920. The county seat and largest city is Butler.

The county covers 379.61 square miles (983 km2), of which 377.44 square miles (978 km2) is land. It is bordered by Upson County to the north, Crawford County to the northeast, Peach County to the east, Macon County to the southeast, Schley County to the south, Marion County to the southwest and Talbot County to the northwest.
